Hello everybody! My name is Tyler, but you can call me Crazy if you want. I am a Diplomat from a fellow RuneScape clan called The RuneScape Rebels. Recently, we have decided that we should open up our forums and become not only a clan, but also a community! This means is that we are opening up and welcoming other players and and other clans to join our forums. We are not looking to grow as a clan, but instead, as a community. In the end, we are all here to have fun right? Why not make some friends in the process? We offer the forums to talk to others about RuneScape, and we even offer some special features like ibEconomy and even an arcade where you can compete with other community members! So far, we are looking for no-requirement and specialized clans to create a round-table community where intra-clan events could take place. I am here to invite you into this opportunity and I hope to see you there!http://therebelz.invisionzone.com

It's not something I would partake in, but I'm sure others might be interested.

This is entirely optional. That is the beauty of it. We are just looking for people to stop by and check out/join our community.

People have done this before, its basically a ploy to pull people from our clan's activity to make there's benefit.

Gah. Wish I had my old forum mod ability right now. Whenever something like this pops up its supposed to be deleted. People have been banned for it before also. Recruiting on our boards is against our policy. If you want a merge talk directly to Christian. Otherwise we can hold events together hold wars etc. Affiliated but separate.

You actually do prove a good point, apparently their losing members which is what they said in their forums, but anyway, like I said. I do not mind...

Technically, as they aren't another clan, this wouldn't be deleted. However, when I clicked the link, I found that much of the homepage was still made out as if they were still a clan. For example, the applications section states "Our clan." Once your webpage is fully reverted, then maybe. But so far, you really have no features for accommodating clans. *Closed*

Re-opened. I think that we shouldn't discard this with such little information.

I know a lot of you feel that this is only going to benefit us and we are going to come out with more activity than you, but that is entirely not true. The benefits are not one-sided. We also have a Clan Discussion forum where you could post updates concerning your clan and potentially gain members. It's not necessarily an alliance (although we're open to that as well), but more of an affiliate type of thing. If some of your members joined our community, we'd be happy to link back to your site (on the board index) if you did the same with us. If you have an 88x31 affiliate button, you could use that. Again, this is not an attempt at recruiting your members. We're trying to start a forum similar to Zybez/RSC's "Clan Discussion" forum (albeit on a smaller scale, obviously) for specialized and no-reqs clans. Everyone at Zybez is obsessed with the top 10 warring clans while others are forced into the back seat.

We have been asked to join a "community" before. We denied that request on the fact that we are a clan. Many of us have made a nice place here in Subsistence. When we join a bigger community, we risk members being recruited from our clan. Many of these topics have been deleted because it's recruiting.

We also have a Clan Discussion forum where you could post updates concerning your clan and potentially gain members.

From other clans in the community? That would just make enemies.

If some of your members joined our community, we'd be happy to link back to your site (on the board index) if you did the same with us.

Recruiting.

If you have an 88x31 affiliate button, you could use that.

Advertising. This topic should really be closed because they do "break" our rules.

We understand completely if you don't wish to join. However, I don't understand the animosity you've exhibited towards this idea. What's the difference between what we're proposing, and the 6 affiliate buttons you already have at the top of your forums? We're offering the same thing PLUS we're actually linking back. I also read that you did something similar for the Arisos alliance you had. If we had phrased this an "alliance" instead, and proposed the same things, where would it have gone?

I'm still noting that most of the site is still geared towards a clan. Once you have completed the transition to community, I would gladly begin advertising there. That would lead to an affiliate link ('tis how most got in our affiliate bar), which would lead to some of our members wandering to your site. Everyone happy, problem solved. Again, I won't advertise there until you have finished the transition. This means fixing small things such as apply to clan, apply for clan diplomat, and the clan leader position.

Honestly I like the idea. The community aspect seems great but it can easily fail, you know. Having just a couple of clans doesn't make much of a community discussion area. Yes, TRR is still generally going to be set up mainly as a clan (unlike Zybez/Tip.it etc.), but that doesn't mean all our members will be recruited away. If that starts to happen leaving would be very easy, but I really don't see that happening. I don't have the authority to say yes or no but I'll make sure it's given a reasonable discussion instead of a one sided argument. I've been in a couple of these communities in other clans (years ago, lol) and the only problem there ever was was the inactivity aspect.

It's not necessarily an alliance (although we're open to that as well)

That's something I think would go over better with more people, if you want an alliance just ask and we can discuss it in the leadership though I see no reason for anyone to disagree with it

The affiliate buttons will be visible from both the site portal (http://therebelz.inv....php?app=portal ) and the main forum page. We've decided to just request a clan/clan alliance for now.
