Six years ago, on June 16th, 2009, Subsistence was created. That moment was the culmination of a series of events in the months prior which lead to the departure of myself and numerous other people from a clan called The Runite Legion. In the years since that day, Subsistence has been home to thousands of people in search of a clan and a community of people to build friendships with.
The past six years have been great. I have had a lot of fun, met interesting people, and I feel grateful that I was able to watch over a place where so many people had similar experiences. I very much appreciate everyone reading this post today, whether you joined in 2015, in 2009, or anywhere in between. Your presence here has played an impact on the clan.
Thank you for that.

In the last year or so we have seen a significant downturn in activity. I believe that this recession is the product of a number of different factors ranging from a changing player landscape in RuneScape, to the aging and departure of many of our older members, to the organizational blunders we made in attempts to upstart other facets of the clan.
Moving forward, I do not plan on making any dramatic changes or lifesaving attempts to jumpstart the clan's activity. I plan on keeping the forums online indefinitely, so that this website can serve as a hub for returning members to communicate through, as well as an archive of the clan's history. As for the Ventrilo server, the decision to keep it running will have to be intermittently depending on its usage.
At this point, regarding the future of Subsistence, I am more than happy to take suggestions and help anyone who has ideas for improvements or changes to the clan. I am open to hearing any idea, so if there is something you think would make our community more enjoyable for the members who remain here, please let me know.
